Hockey Maharashtra was affiliated to Hockey India on 14 December 2013.
Hockey Maharashtra has 21 Districts. Mumbai Hockey Association with 4 Districts and Vidarbha Hockey Association with 11 districts are associate members of Hockey Maharashtra.
With the new guideline / Rule of One State, One Association, Hockey Maharashtra will be the sole body for the state of Maharashtra with 36 districts
Hockey Maharashtra organized 5 National Championships till date.
- 4th Hockey India Sub-Junior Girls National Championship 2014 - A division where in 2 state teams participated.
- 5th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship 2015 A & B division where 48 teams participated.
- 1st Hockey India 5 a side National Championship for Men and Women 2016
- 2nd Hockey India 5 a side National Championship for Men and Women 2017.
- The 9th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship was held in Aurangabad 17-28 February 2019.

- Vinit Kamble - 2013, 2014 in the Senior team.
- Akash Chikte - 2015 onward till date. Playing in the Indian Team. was awarded as the Best goalkeeper in the Asia cup 2017.
- He was promoted as a NK subedar in the Indian Army.
- Sneha Pawar - Senior Women's team 2015.
- Aishwarya Chavan - 2014, 2015 (junior), 2016, 2019(Senior)
- Harish Shindgi - 2016 Junior Men's team.
- Rahul Shinde - 2017 Junior Men's team.
- Venkatesh Kenchi - 2017 Junior Men's team
- Vaishnavi Phalke - 2017, 2018, 2018, Sub Junior Women's team.

- Suraj Karkera is the only player form Maharashtra in the Olympic Qualifiers.
- He is also promoted as NK Subedar in the Indian Army.
- Akshata Dhekale, Rutuja Pisal and Vaishnavi Phalke our players studying in Krida Prabhodini from phaltan have been selected to represent Indian Team in Santiago, Chile in January 2021.
Achievements of Maharashtra teams in the National Championships.
- Our Senior Men's team lost in the final of the B division in the Hockey India Nationals held at Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh in 2014.
- Our Junior Men's team was Runner up in 2016 in the 6th National championship held in the B division at Raipur, Chhattisgarh..
- Junior men's team lost in quarterfinal in 2017 in the 7th National Championships held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Olympian Vikram Pillay was the coach and Olympion Ajit Lakra was the Manager of the team. The first time two Olympian as coach and Manager.
- Our men's team won the Gold Medal for the first time in the 1st Hockey India 5 a side National Championship 2016
- Women's team stood 4th.
- Men's team won the Bronze Medal in the 2nd Hockey India 5 a side National championship for Men and women 2017
- Women's team won the Silver Medal.
- Our player Aishwarya Chavan was awarded as the promising young player of the tournament.
- The first mixed event Gold was won by Maharashtra in 2017.
- Winner of Gold Medal in the Mixed event of the 3rd Hockey India 5 a side national Championship for Men and Women 2018.
- Winner of Bronze Medal by men's team in 2018 in the 3rd 5A side Hockey nationals held at Bangalore, Karnataka.
- Our girls U 21 Won the Bronze Metal at the Khelo India games held at Guwahati in 2019
- The 9th Hockey India Senior Women National Championships held at Rohtak Haryana in 2019.
- Senior Women's team was placed 4th in the 9th Hockey India Senior women nationals at Rohtak & 10th Hockey India Senior women nationals at Kollam
Employment
Good performance of Maharashtra players in the National Championships have helped them to get employment in Government Departments like Central Excise and Customs, Income Tax, Bombay Engineering Group, Mumbai Port Trust, Maharashtra Police, Indian Railways, Indian Navy, Maratha Light Infantry and others

Two Women umpires Shweta Patil & Rama Potnis and Male Umpire Saurav Singh Rajput from Maharashtra have been promoted as International Umpires.

Eliza Nelson
Won the gold medal at the 9th Asian Games held at New Delhi in 1982 & fourth place at the Moscow 1980 Summer Olympics. She received the Arjuna Award in 1981 and Padma Shri in 1983.

Selma D’Silva
Represented India at the 1980 Summer Olympics and 1982 Asian Games. Captain for Indian Women’s Hockey Team during the 1983 Woman World Cup Kuala Lumpur.

Geeta Biswas (Sareen)
She played for India in Japan (1970), New Zealand (1971), France (1974), Scotland (1975), Canada (1975) besides Moscow Olympic games. After retirement from active hockey, she took to umpiring.

Margaret Toscano
Margaret Toscano (born 9 August 1956) is an Indian field hockey player. She competed in the women's tournament at the 1980 Summer Olympics.

Rekha Bhide Mundphan
She is an Arjuna Awardee and Olympian, Shiv Chhatrapati Awardee, Maharashtra Gaurav Puraskar winner.

Namrata Shah
Namrata Shah, formerly Naazleen Madraswalla, represented India in the 1980 Olympics at age 17.

Late Joseph Phillips
Joseph "Joe" Phillips (March 24, 1911 - 1986) was an Indian field hockey player who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He was a member of the Indian field hockey team, which won the gold medal.

Late Babu Narsu Nimal
Babu Narsu Nimal was an Indian field hockey player who competed in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He was a member of the Indian field hockey team, which won the gold medal.

Govind Perumal
Govind Perumal (Sep 25, 1925 - Sep 17, 2002) was an Indian field hockey player who won two gold medals with the Indian team at the 1952 and 1956 Summer Olympics respectively

Gurbux Singh
Gurbux Singh is a former field hockey player from India who was a member of the India national field hockey team that won the gold medal at the 1964 Summer Olympics.

MM Somaya
Member of Indian squad in many international games, including the team that won the Gold medal at the 1980 Moscow Summer Olympic Games. Member of the 1984 Olympics team & captain of the 1988 Olympics team.

Mervyn Fernandes
Mervyn with his body-serve and excellent finish was an exceptional forward. He was part of the Indian hockey team that won the gold medal in 1980 Summer Olympics at Moscow

Marcellus Gomes
Marcellus Gomes (born 16 January 1961) is an Indian field hockey player. He competed at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, where the Indian team placed fifth. Later, he moved into coaching the Indian Hockey Team.

Iqbaljit Singh Grewal (born 4 November 1959) is an Indian field hockey player. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1984 Summer Olympics

Mark Paterson
Mark Patterson (born 26 May 1969) is an Indian field hockey player. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1988 Summer Olympics.

Dhanraj Pillay
Dhanraj Pillay (born 16 July 1968) is a former captain of the Indian national team. Pillay made his debut in 1989 with the national team and in a career spanning over 15 years, appeared for India in four Olympic Games, World Cups and Champion Trophies each. He made 339 appearances for the national team and is recorded, unofficially, to have scored 170 goals. Recognizing his achievements, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the government of India in 2000 & was also a recipient of the first Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award.

Gavin Ferreira

Anil Aldrin
Anil Alexander Aldrin (born 22 August 1971) played as a defender for India from 1992 to 1999 and captained the country during his last years in 1999. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1996 Summer Olympics at Atlanta & also played in the Asian Games in 1994 and 1998

Rahul Singh (born 5 January 1975) is an Indian field hockey player. He competed in the men's tournament at the 1996 Summer Olympics.

Jude Menezes
Jude represented India at 133 international matches, which includes the 2000 Summer Olympics, 1998 Hockey World Cup and 2002 World Cup

Viren Rasquinha
Viren Rasquinha (born 13 September 1980) is an Olympian and the former captain of the Indian Hockey team. He is an Arjuna Awardee (2005) and has played 180 international matches for the Indian hockey team in a career spanning from 2002 till 2008

Vikram Pillay
Vikram Vishnu Pillai is a hockey midfielder from India. He helped India win gold in Hockey Junior World Cup in 2001. Vikram made his international debut for India in 2002 during a 4 nation tournament in Adelaide, South Australia. He was a member of Indian team in Athens Olympics in 2004, where India finished in 7th place.

Adrian D’Souza
Adrian Albert D'souza (born 24 March 1984) is a field hockey goalkeeper, who made his international debut in January 2004. He has more than 100 International Caps & has played in all major field hockey tournaments, including the 2006 Hockey World Cup, 2006 Asian Games, 2007 Asia Cup and 2 Champions Trophies.

Devindar Walmiki
Devindar Sunil Walmiki (born 28 May 1992) is an Indian field hockey player who plays as a midfielder for Dutch club HGC. He has represented India in the 2016 Summer Olympics. He is also a recipient of Shiv Chhatrapati Award
